Well folks - the local guys said it WAS the sender unit. Asked them what they thought had caused it to pack up, they said as the vehicle was 1995 it could be due to age

Had no choice but to get it replaced ....A lovely bill of £325

At least it's fixed and we don't have to worry when we go on our trip

I do NOT do repairs (which would be cheaper) due to my disability but many thanks to all who gave their advice so readily. Have booked for the BASH so hope to meet some of you lovely people in Stourport
