Worn Piston Rings, Short Term Solution?

Not too sure about the Sticky Rings business, I'm guessing they're more worn than sticking, hence letting oil up into the chamber.

Its unlikely to be relevant to recent gasket job as A: Its been gobbling oil at the same rate since bought 33,000 miles ago & B Its had a new head & replaced turbo in the meantime thus knocking those other potential problems off the list.

I can only assume that all 4 pots are past their best but the inner two are showing more physical signs first as they run hottest.

All will be replaced at some time in the future but I'd like a lifeline to keep me going & saving some dosh on oil consumption 'till then.

TBH Simon, thats the way I see it, along with the Constant Self Fushing coolant at around a pint a month . . .

Actually thats rather an interesting point. What sum would you need to do to demonstrate that it might be possible to do away with oil changes because you were replenishing it anyway at a more than adequate rate and just burning the old stuff in an environmentally friendly manner. Might turn out its cheaper on oil than a healthy engine needing oil changes

Forgot about Xado, used the 'petrol engine treatment' Gel in my old Kia, damn good stuff IMO, sold the car to a fella in the village, he reckons its still going strong
Never ever had an engine issue with that car, i might one day put some in the Bongo, well worth a try me thinks Could be a cheap fix
