Yup, got that but the way I see it we're talking about ambient air being drawn in from the outside via the intake. It either is (cold dry air) or gets dehumidified, and maybe warmed, then blows on the windscreen and evapourates anything there, then mixes with the moist air occupants are breathing into the cab, making the mixed air mass dryer through dilution and aiding evaporation on passenger/rear windows. Then, in theory, it leaves via the exit vents towards the rear of the vehicle.

If you go on recirculation, its a different matter as the aircon has to be successful at dehumidying all the moist air being breathed by occupants as the condition of the outside air doesn't figure.
