mine is up to 569 km and not on the red line yet.. ..... been as good as this since the new diesel pump..... still will need to fill as off on a gift delivery trip tomorrow .....going to be mad out there.... took my neighbour an hour and a half to get out of Cambridge today.. .. yes out....

Thanks for all the links, photos ect. Do i have to remove the seats and carpet in the back to locate and remove this cover plate so i can check the wiring?

If i get the gauge working is it accurate? what i mean is, i have an old audi 80 and that will run for miles reading empty, ive never ran out and keep pushing the limit just to see, i'll get caught sometime i know. On the other hand my wifes car will run out if the needle touches the empty mark.
Not good practice i know lifting all sorts of crud from the tank,
just good to know if caught short somewhere.

Can anyone tell me the proceedure for this please and i'll get this sorted over the next 2 days or so. lots od driving to do and would love to get the gauge sorted or at least check the earthing wires

Thought there would be major upheaval involved, removing seat and rails etc.

I'd strongly recommend avoiding running out of fuel. Though the connection can't be proved, we've had two cases on here recently where running/pump problems came along after running out of fuel. Not sure how the issues might be linked (given fuel filters etc.) but best to be safe.

I have done the rewire and earth, Didnt have time to wait for gauge to rise but i'll see if it works later.
does the gauge raise slowly? or fast once ignition on

Gauge usually takes a few minutes once ignition's on.

When i got her i put in £60 which filled her to the neck, did 500km on the way home.
put £20 in her on Saturday and did a lot of running around, then put £20 in on Monday morning to see me to and fro work. There is now 700km on her and she is showing half full, Hope its correct.
