Before i do though - I assume this thing plugs into the existing wiring and doesn't require me to feeds endnless miles of extra cables everywhere. Also I note that there is a switch gizmo too, will this fit into one of the blank switch areas i have on the dash surround or does it just screw on somewhere handy?
Or you can do what i did & fit a factory rheostat switch.. (3rd in on the left, top bank.)

Find a wire that comes on with the side/head lights..Auto select is yer drive selector knob, there's a bulb lights up when the lights on for the ash tray? Though i took a feed from the dash loom.. Mazda 626 was where i got the rheostat from & i did master a bit of "butchery" to get it to work with the dials...

(And work it does... Though you might know more about auto electrics than i do.!)

I have a manual gear box hence my lack of knowledge on autoselect.
I do have an ashtray light and only replaced the bulb t'other day so, yes, could take a feed from there.
Many thanks for the rheostat info
Just a thought though - could you move the switch and the rheostat of the mounting board that comes with plasma dials and put them onto existing blanking plates/thingies?
BTW I know nothing about autoelectrics. I know about computers and they are much easier to understand than autoelectrics IMO.

I originally thought about that one.. But as you can see from the picture posted by dvisor of the back of the switch they wont fit into a Mazda blank.. (Well the rheostat won't.) That's why i disconnected the original rheostat & connected the 626.. (after a bit of modding to the 626 switch.) The colour changer switch i buried behind the dash on blue, on account i personally didn't like the green!
