Mine is voltage sensitive, If I've been camped for the night, and used the radio
(off the starter battery), there's a definate difference in Haydns' alarm.

I am very happy with mine. It gives a reassuring little bleep when I do a right hand bend out of the work car park in the evening, when cold. (I turn left when I leave home in the morning....)

Put a cupful of coolant/water in the tank and see if it stops doing thatMondoBongo wrote:I am very happy with mine. It gives a reassuring little bleep when I do a right hand bend out of the work car park in the evening, when cold. (I turn left when I leave home in the morning....)

hmmm, i'm not sure where the "switched live" feed is from. If i have a battery that may be on the way out would that create a low voltage and thus cause the alarm to whine a little?haydn callow wrote:It would be interesting to know where the "switched live" feed for the alarm has been taken from......I would move it (try the back of the ciggy lighter socket)....or...could your battery be on the way out....
Clever things these alarms....they detect all sorts of problems....One thing for sure....There is nothing wrong with the alarm itself....

Hi Sluggy, Did mike mention to you to top up the coolant an inch or so the following day after the coolant change?Sluggy wrote:Hi Haydn, sorry to butt in on this thread guys but my coolant alarm seems to have been playing up a bit recently. It has an extra extra long beep when cold, in fact it lasts for upto 5 minutes, very loud. I had the coolant changed at the beggining of summer at wheelquick and we've probably done no more than 1500 miles since... is this a problem with the strength of mixture?
The level drops overnight as the engine cools and the last bits of air expel themselves you see? Once it has been topped up after a bleed the coolant shouldn't drop after that.
