Whilst I must agree with all previous posts regarding the Willinton kit, I have been having problems recently with my Leisure Battery, which I thought wasn't holding charge. It has since been tested and the battery is actually fine. However when I was removing the battery this happened:

It seems that this part was obviously loose initially and wasn't charging the LB properly and when removing it from the LB it just came off in my hand.

It looks like a quick and easy solder will sort it out, but just thought I'd mention it anyway.

No need for soldering - just undo the screws and refit the end of the cable beyond the break.

That makes sense - cheers for that. That would obviously make the cable shorter though. 'tis tooo dark now to go looking under the bonnet, but (silly question alert!) - will it still reach the LB terminal?

Since putting mine in, which was not too complicated, I have the issue that my Japanese installed cassette/radio is always on, but also my multi CD changer does not seem to be found anymore it just says No CD on the cassette player. Is this because I have installed the kid or is it just a coincidence? Also is there a ay to get the radio to turn off?

there must be an on/off switch on the set somewhere ?Failing that u could just put the fuse back in for the audio unit and disconect the willington wire the blue 1 I think ,check the instructions if in doubt.

Try holding the on/off button until it switches off, if that doesn't work you may have to put a switch in so it switches off completely as it would with the ignition switch.
With the cd changer, check that you haven't disturbed any leads, is it still getting power?

It's just that one of the feeds to the radio isn't switched any more as that is one of the changes that the kit does - it changes the feed from a switched one from the main battery to an unswitched from the leisure battery.

That means you can now use the radio when parked up without any worry about flattening the starter battery.

Thanks for the replies, the cd multi changer still ejects so I presume that it is still getting power.
I understand that the radio cassette player is now wired to the leisure battery, but it is always on. Not in the sense that the radio is on, but its light is always on so at night you can see the time when the car is locked. I have tried keeping the button pushed off but it does nothing. I assume when it runs of the ignition when the ignition is off it is turned off, but as the leisure battery does not have an off I will have to add an off switch or change the radio.

Leisure Battery Switch? I have one of these isolators fitted to my Bongo which is only used as a camper and often laid up for weeks.
