Can you explain in simple terms please :) I can't get the indicators to flash as yet :?: So adding a motor might be too much work for me :?: Dave
Dave,
Put diodes in line on yer indicators before the indicator lock flash wire tie in...!!
If you leave yer indicators on when the ignitions off & you lock the van a back surge to the flashers will light up everything on the dial pod!! #-o

Hi jaylee,
I think one of the wires has a diode in it but when i try to wire up to the indicators nothing works :?: Dave

I dare say both wires to the indicators that make em flash might have an in-line fuse.. Are you sure the fuses are fine??

Dave,

I've had a quick look at my wiring diagram. A blue/red wire takes fused +12v into the drivers door where a switch operated by the key connects it to either a yellow/red or white/black wire (lock and unlock - or vice versa). These wires run from the door back to the central locking relay/timer module (in the passenger footwell, I think) which then applies the appropriate direction pulse to the three locking motors (passenger door, side door, tailgate) via red and red/green wires. A white/green wire supplies +12v (via a different fuse) directly to the relay/timer module and a black wire provides the ground connection.

I've just been looking at this in my Bongo, as I've fitted an alarm which has central locking outputs. I think the simplest solution in my case will be to fit an extra locking motor in the drivers door which is (only) connected to the alarm output. When the alarm activates this motor, the Bongo central locking system will lock/unlock all the other doors in the usual way - just as it does if you manually operate the internal button on the drivers door.

I believe that some Bongos may have a (factory fitted?) remote central locking option with the extra motor already installed in the drivers door. This does not appear to be shown in the wiring diagrams (or at least I've not found it yet) so I can't comment on the wiring in such vehicles. The wiring diagrams are available on CD from Bongo Towers - well worth the expenditure, I think.

Hope this helps, Romney

PS: Does anyone have a spare locking motor which will fit in the drivers door???? :)

The factory fitted motor in the drivers door (if you have 1!) is controlled by the red and green wire from the unit, the blue and black are power.

Even accessing the factory wiring for standard central locking wont help you UNLESS you have an actuator/motor fitted as most Bongo's only have single point locking (meaning they can only be centrally locked/unlocked from 1 place, drivers door, whereas most cars are multipoint drivers/passengers/boot) for that reason Mazda didnt se the need to install a motor in the drivers door.

You can get universal 2 wire motors from fleabay for a few pounds and are easy to fit.

Where are you picking up the indicator feeds? simple access place is with the drivers knee panel removed, below and to the left right of the steering column you'll see a blue connector to the left and white to the right, its the white connector your after, on the back you'll find 2 thin wires blue/green trace and black/blue trace

Thanks 321,
found the 2 wires as you described and all is working fine now =D> =D> So easy when somebody points you in the right direction =D> If anybody wants any info on remote central locking from r-click contact me as the wiring diagram is very strange.Dave
