Just been and had a look. Took the console off and found a tent peg stuck in the mechanism. Explains the luggish performance yesterday and lots of LPG disappearing. Checked the brakes and discs, fortunately they are fine.

Handbrake doesn't work on the disks as such. There is a wee drum brake built into the middle of each rear disk. The handbrake activates a set of shoes inside this drum unit. Same as a Subaru Impreza!

Yep, kind of meant that, all seems well and lesson learnt re tent pegs !

The next time someone asks why they're getting sluggish performance and using lots of LPG, we'll know the answer.
But isn't it great when there's a simple cure.
