I had to have a doubletake on your pictures. I thought somebody had swiped my numberplate. I've got exactly the same reg as you, except I've got an extra digit What's the chances of that?

The Diplomat wagon drove off the Vomit Comet at 11.30 last night after a very smooth crossing.

I kept my eyes peeled for signs of Weymouth's best known inhabitant but didn't spot another Bongo or any fiery trails anywhere!

Campsite was fine - facilities spot on (they must have been cos the wife never complained)
Quite strong winds (warm) on Guernsey. No problem during the day but at night the winds caused awning to disconnect (fig.8's) from Bongo. Had to get up a couple of nights to refix the fig.8's.
Tides are a bit swift aren't they? and quite a difference in high/low tide levels.
As far as the air show went, we saw absolutely nothing - cloud. but we could hear whatever was zooming around. Sadly, no Merlin engines
What we did see was the RAF go-cart team (2 vanloads) camped in the same field as us. They go to Guernsey every year by invitation of the local go-cart folk. They stage a hill climb event. Unfortunately, The RAF lost.

As you said, Guernsey seems lost in some timewarp - reminded me of when I was in my teens, a million years ago.
I wasn't aware of the 'greed culture' that has taken over here. Free parking, cheap(er) fags and fuel - refreshing.
I will certainly go back again.

When I went to fill up at one garage, the young guy asked me if I wanted to buy some jerry cans (to bring some extra fuel home)

We live other way round unfortunately. Early to bed early to rise (mainly daylight usage related!)

No doubt Condor will vary the times again so we get in earlier but the current schedule is good for us as we get a whole day in Jersey before departure and still get back to Kent by about 3 a.m.

The ensuing morning is one of your style however!!!

If we are not carrying too many goods and chattels from one house to the other we have slept in the van up in a quiet part of Wyke Regis and then set off at the crack of dawn, often to do some Dorset touring. We try and avoid Weymouth for the outbound trip. Usually take the slow one from Portsmouth and get some sunbathing in or spend 8 hours listening to everything in the galley crashing to the floor if the sea is rough.
