Thanks Border T. It wasn't that, this time at any rate, as the problem occurred before I started the cruise control install. I had the partially cruise-installed motor all put together and back on the road today, and all systems were go. Might well bugger it up again though, doing the final wiring up tomorrow - after an absolute pig of a job getting the servo and throttle control parts shoehorned into our LPG-V6 :(
