Bongo Fury

Ok so I fitted a new water pump and bled again. Stat opened around 30 mins. For the whole time bleeding there was a steady stream of bubbles for the whole 40 mins of bleeding. When throttling up to 3000 revs loads of gas came out the funnel and it bubbled up like a witches caldron. I have resigned myself to the fact that the head or gasket is done for. Through this site I found Lakeside Garage in Staines. Not too far away. Waiting now for the AA to ship it over there. I was going to tackle this job myself but it sounds like a bit of a job so I will leave it to the experts and swallow the cost.

Good luck TDB - hope Bongo gets fixed up well and normal service can return

so do I. I really have been down this last few weeks as I can't get out doing my kiting and I didn't realise just how precious the Bongo is to me. I will be taking more care of her from now on. This just highlighted just how neglected she was. When sorted I will be fitting the low coolant alarm that I bought about a year ago. I have just purchased a TM2 alarm from Haydn too so that will be going on.
I was impressed with the garage giving me a definitely quote without all the if's and but's.

Thats the thing. A Bongo is not any old banger you throw away when trouble strikes. Its more like a pet, a dear friend, an indispensible companion. Anyway, get it mended, draw a line, move on hopefully

Hope its sorted soon TDB. You do tend to get attached to them.
