It's interesting mainly because it is like a blast from the past, a pub that has not changed in decades. Serves from barrels at the back of the bar, cheap food (max £4-ish). And it's in the Good Beer Guide 2008.

I did ask about stopping overnight at that pub a few months ago, the landlord was 'Non-commital'.

Great pub, and well worth checking for a definate date, and would he do all day, or would we be looking at an evening meet?

Has this mini-meet for Rest of the West dried up?

1st or 2nd week of October is good for me - and the closer to Swindon the better.

Looking forward to a BBQ with kids - is that instead of steak, sausages and burgers then?

Will this be a one day thing or people intending to stay over. (october a tad chilly) I can only get kids under the age of 4 on the spit roast so better stick to Lamb, Mind you if it gets cold and we are all lashed up(drunk) we could always get a Taxi home ,
