Good luck then.
I had to change my alt on Friday afternoon on the pavment of MazdaBongoShop. It was staightforward and it only took about 20 mins so don't panic. I paid around £120 exchange IIRC.

So after repairing the loom which turned out to be a broken earth wire under the shroud that goes into the bodywork, i took up the slack & set it up like this...
Though with the CL i would check to make sure you have a relay fitted...

i agree, look like that the V shape does more damaged than good.

Pics of what everything look like, not good.
Did you replace all the wires or just reconect everything neatly ?

It moves with the door & don't bend at an acute angle like it was.
The ribbed plastic cable tidy had cracked at the point where it was cable tied to the hinge & had started chaffing a couple of wires on the loom..
So i cut it in half & set it up as you see and removed the cable tie!
I've had no trouble since..

Crickey! What a mess...
It can be repaired!
The first picture looks to me like ether an attempt was made in the past to repair or some kind of remote CL pimp..?

I would replace each wire in turn, soldering connections in the door and car. If you put connections on the bendy bit, they will only break again in very little time.

that's what i am thinking to do, soldering connections, can't really see other way.
Should keep me busy for a while
