Bummer Brora. I hope that you manage to get it fixed in time for Blairgowrie without it costing you too many bawbees. I won't be the same if you can't make your usual day visit to say hello to everyone.

Years ago I had a similar problem with a Talbot, the pedal dropped a bit and it was hard to select 3rd and 4th gears, the slave cylinder only moved a few mm, turned out the thrust bearing had worn the clutch pressure plate away, it made a similar noise to the video.
hope you sort it.

Just been to the garage, (only one open today)and the up-shot is the gearbox is shot
Took me five minutes to reverse onto the road outside the house reverse as keeps on jamming, and fifth gear rattles like hell. So it's the fifth gear that gone into bits, theres bits of fifth floating effecting the other gears. We decided to get the clutch done at the same time.
I'm off now to try and find a S/h box.
Cheers.

Try phoning Wheelquick Donald. I don't know much about that new shape bongo of their's that was burnt out by vandals. but bigdaddy got a few bits out of it so you never know. Perhaps Steve will be on later to give you a few pointers. Wheelquick 01942 217800. Ask for either of the two Mikes, Snr or Jnr.

I did try phoning, but think they might be having a May day holiday? as there was no answer. It might of been that they were busy at the time. I can not get an answer from most places i've tried today.
I've used
http://www.find-a-part.com/ breakers, and
http://www.breakeryard.com/.
So far one reply from a breaker at "find a part" that i've used before,£385 delivered, and one from breakeryard @ £517.
I'll try phoning around tomorow.
Cheers.

Hi Donald...It doesn't sound too good mate, i had similar symptoms on a car recently, and the gearbox was shot...
Wheelquick was indeed closed today bud...The bongo i stripped of bits was an auto.
I'd give mike a ring tomorrow mate, i know he has a few breakers on the go at the moment, i don't recall any of em being manual though...
