and a big thank you to haydn for taking the time to phone me and put me straight on exactly how to do it. I didnt do it today as I want to give myself a full day to do it to take into account of any unexpected problems.and I will be investing in one of your alarms as soon as ive topped my bank account back up after spashing out nearly £300 on an awning
but we have been working on the bongo all day just cleaning it most of the day went on cleaning the roof canopy it was minging inside and out and its now fit for a queen to sleep in and ive just orderd some cut to size memory foam
what an amazing roof canopy it is too and I look forward to having an afternoon snooze with the canvass rolled up and a lovely sea breeze blowing through Cant wait!
Hello and welcome
You have done well looking at this forum. This is the first step to Bongo heaven.
You would be hard pressed to run a Bongo without looking at the forum
I cannot say more, as all the folks here have a vast font of knowledge that is extremely superior to mine. I would like to thank all the folks that given me advice, offerd personnel help, and help that I have taken up when bleeding problems have arisen.
All the best.

Welcome the jonesys. Well you've done the right thing getting on this forum as the phone call from Haydn already shows. I tell everyone to fit an LCA as they are invaluable for peace of mind with a Bongo.
Great to hear the Bongo is cleaning up well. What is the rating on the tyres as its possibly they are inadequately load rated. I'd get the Bongo over to Ian Taylor at Market Drayton as he is excellent and will advise on where you need to spend first. I don't know what you paid for your Bongo but if it was a bargain and you end up spending a bit you are only back where most of us were when we bought ours and at least you know it is then sound. A good Bongo is a great car for enjoying as little or as much time as you can find to get away - plus very useful for people moving and load lugging. The main thing you have to know you can live with is the fuel consumption. Not too bad cruising on the open road, rather worse in urban environments and in hilly country.

And like you mentioned- You can always sell a lung!!! I have owned mine for about 18 months, and drive a "repmobile" all through the week

. On Friday (commonly known as Bongofriday in our house) I park the Vectra and pull out the Bongo!!! It gives us so much pleasure, and is worth every penny it costs. I am sure you will feel the same. If you can make it, the Bash is fantastic fun!!!!

That sums it up perfectly. A Bongo is a pet. Sometimes they cost, but then they give such pleasure. It's hard to understand how this one rather strange car (if that isn't a demeaning term to use for a Bongo) can do that, but it does (for many of us anyway!).

I dont know if any of you know of the garage in leek [stoke on trent] but they are retailing fully converted bongos for 14,000 which I would probably never be able to save up for in this lifetime! so when I saw this part converted one in derby on ebay with a buy it now price of 4,000 I thought it was something I could not let pass by
so I sold my work van [ Im a window cleaner ] and now use the family fiat multipla for work and made the rest of the cash up so it is fully paid for. I am well aware it is 14 years old and will need a few jobs doing but it really is in good condition I may get a full conversion one day but for the time being I have just orderd some memory foam for the roof and brought a quite substansial free standing awning and a few other bits and pieces there are a few more technical jobs to do but I dont mind as long as they are done for summer.
I have always been a motorcyclist and used to spend a good deal of time on my fronts cleaning polishing and generally faffing about with it I no longer have a motor cycle due to an expansion in the family [skye my 2 year old girl]. I no longer miss my bike my bongo more than makes up for it I absolutly loved it the other day I spent all day cleaning polishing it and generally faffing about with it while enjoying a couple of bevvys chatting to anyone passing that was admiring it and there was a few
