£10 pppn? and all they supply is drinking water?

That is also a long way from the circuit at least Whittlebury has better facilities and it's own gate direct onto the circuit.

Are we saying that Whittlebury is THE place to stay?

				From
http://www.hamiltonfields.co.uk/index.html
An ideal location for those wanting to stay on a quiet campsite that is a 20 minute walk to the Silverstone Circuit.
It's not a
a 20 minute walk I'd like to do too often.
(Just checked and it's 2.2miles/3.5kms to the main gate.)
Whittlebury is a shorter walk than most of the circuit car parks, but they know it and know they can charge for that convenience.

I suppose we could be persuaded to come along to this

Tickets booked!

Whittlebury is your best plan. Most of the other sites are only open for the F1 weekend. Silverstone occasionally allow on-site camping but it is rare, which is a shame as they have enough ground & facilities for it. As Scanner says, from Whittlebury you can walk to the Copse entrance which puts you right by the footbridge access to the paddock area. The facilities at Whittlebury aren't legendary either, but you're in a Bongo, right?

To give you an idea of what the site is like, here's Muzette in 2007 having infiltrated the Team Dipsomaniacs camp.....
....and here's a more familiar shot from 2008

The electric pitches are very limited, and very expensive unless you're running an air-conditioner in a Winnebago. For one night you're best plan is "rough-it"

Apart from all the free fairground stuff for the kids, there's a lot of good track action to watch. Everything is Renault, surprisingly enough, but you should see.......

nearly new F1 cars in action

vintage F1 cars in action

vintage endurance racers in action

and Meganes with bodykits you can't get from your local dealer

Hi Mike,
Still waiting for reply, but if necessary I will pop up there after the easter monday, when they are less busy. As for numbers

Think it would be easier to book the whole sit 500 places, the way it's going

About 15-30 I would think really.
I think this was a great idea from DBlake!
and will be a great weekend ! I am still trying to get pooch sorted, so that I can be there Saturday too. Anyone who wants to make a full weekend from friday and can afford it

There is a friday show and meal at the Hall of Motown blues sort. Nice if celebrating birthday etc
