Fantastic stuff!
PatnBen have a great idea.
What about utilising the roof-rack holes and making some shallow skids to push the offending height barrier out of the way, there would have to be a bit of an overhang at the back to prevent the barrier from swinging into the rear of the Bong.

Guess we'll never be inventors though!

Techni stuff is way over my head, but fun to ponder over! I've decided hydraulic wheels are the only answer

You are so right. Hydraulic suspension that can be raised and lowered with the flick a switch.

I guess given the way we all like Aldi, a pair of these mounted at the front corners of the AFT would solve the problem nicely;
