My hose clips came from http://www.manflex.co.uk sourced for me from their Warrington outfit by bigdaddycain. Steve and I believe most of the North West crowd have also used them on their new silicone hoses.

But can you cut them yourself cheaper than buying a set of made to measure hoses?

The Bongo's hoses have to fit through defined gaps to reach stubs in specific locations - it's why they are such strange shapes.

With a Bongo you don't have the luxury of being able to move things about to avoid kinking hoses like a car builder does and if just one of those hoses ends up kinking and closes up, blocking flow through it...............??

It also appears to me that you are going to have to buy a lot more hose than you actually need in order to make a full set.
i.e. you'll end up with a lot of offcuts left over.
Also have you factored in the time and (I have no doubt) hassle involved in trying to get things to fit? If you have and you've been realistic about it, you must have plenty of time on your hands.

Not meant to be discouraging - honestly - just realistic.

Do Mazda supply the hose clips FOC as well?
No they don't but, as an example:

Bongobits - "Mazda Bongo Water Hose (Top)". £23.00 + £8.25 delivery. Total £32.49.

Warrington Mazda - ditto. £13.41, collected.

Do Bongobits provide a pair of clips worth £19.08?

Can't tell you what my clips cost by the way, as I already had new ones on that hose.

1 - I was referring to Flippa's silicon hoses coming complete with clips not Bongobits' ones - not sure if this is always the case but plenty of folk seem to have had clips arrive with their hose.

2 - In any case comparing "delivered" from Bongo bits with "collected" from Warrington is a bit unfair - how much does it cost you to collect from Warrington? (45 mile (ish) round trip at 20p/mile (which only covers the fuel) = £9.00).

3 - Flippa's top hose appears to cost £18.00 delivered - cheaper than £13.41 + (at least) £9.00 for collection.

Comparison is fine. I did not make a special trip, I collected when passing en route to Manchester - and they were quite happy to hold it until then.

Didn't buy from Flippa, after several PM exchanges, as he couldn't really confirm which hoses were V6-compatible, and after studying the Mazda parts manuals at Lushprojects for several hours, neither could I. If I had bought silicone, I would have replaced them all, or at least as many as are V6-compatible if we could have worked it out, but then Wheelquick advised if aint broke don't fix it - and that certainly chimed with recent experience :( Will possibly convert to silicone hoses when my coolant change falls due, hoping that by then Flippa will either have a full V6 set, or at least a list of V6-compatible hoses from his present stock.

Quite a few have looked at the alternatives, Flippa even went to the bother of getting the silicon ones made up
If you lift the seats & the bonnet, it'll be easy enough to see for yourself what size hoses you need & approximate lengths if no-one comes up with the dimensions.
Good luck & keep us posted.

Hi Para, sorry if my post sounded a bit negative,it wasn't intended to come across that way.

I think when you have weighed up all the options, and factored in the amount of work involved in getting the hose to "custom fit", i'd plump for the flippa hose option each time.

I have no idea how long the original rubber hoses have been laying on the shelves in the mazda dealers, but you can bet that they are quite a bit older than the silicone option.

When you consider that silicone doesn't degrade to the same extent as rubber, then it seems a no brainer to me! :P

Obviously the V6 ers have less options at the moment, but flippa has a V6 now, so it may only be a matter of time...
