Pilajake, what actually 'happened' when it stopped going up? Did the motor and beeping stop very suddenly, or did the motor sound as though it was straining with the beeper continuing to, er, beep?
Can anyone tell me what 'informs' the system to stop going up when it's reached the top - is there a 'limit' switch which is set to trip at full erection (damn, I've said it...) or does the
motor detect that it can't go any further and shut off (like an electric window system)?
As you can tell from my questions above, I'm not familiar with the mechanics of the Bongo roof, but: IF the motor came to a dead halt
after having operated smoothly up to that point, AND the beeping stopped at the same time, this would indicate to me a limit switch which simply needs to be repositioned or recalibrated.
If however, the motor was sounding as though it was beginning to find the going tough beforre stuttering to a halt, this would suggest some serious stickiness.
Clearly though, your basic system is working ok, so I reckon it'll either need 'lube' or a 'tweak'.
But I don't know...
