But would you change an inlet manifold gasket if somebody complained about a screech when accelerating..............?
I cannot for the life of me think of ANY diagnosis of that fault which would produce that as a solution.

I did mention it, but they told me that they had to replace it as it was part of the problem ???
Couldn't quite make sense of it myself, but now I know ADS is close I will visit them. Alan seems like a good bloke!
Thanks All!

I'd get a 2nd opinion and then go and get your money back........... go to Trading Standards if they won't play ball.
If that is the standard of their expertise you've no need to worry about having to use them again.

An inlet manifold WILL squeal if it is leaking - but only on a throttled diesel or petrol engine.

A competent mechanic should have known it was neither - unless of course this is a V6 we are talking about............
In which case all the previous advice is null and void.

I was generalising - in case viewers got the impression that NO inlet manifold could squeal............

I realised that....
Anyway I'd have said inlet manifolds "tweeted" myself - "squealing" would be a bit OTT.

Mine only ever made a noise when decelerating i.e. vacuum in the manifold.

I get a moning noise when I accelerate but it only seems to happen when my wife is in the car.

LOL!
I went to ADS today and Adams team immediately pointed where the manifold stud was sheered off. They are going to have it in next week to get fixed.
Does having this stud missing reduce the performance or fuel economy of the Bongo?
Thanks
Paul
