Is the shaft on the motor the correct size to fit the existing worm gear? That may help come to a decision.

Well, I supose if you can fit/wedge/glue/locktite/gluegun the motor in tightly.......sorry I can't be more help, then it should work ,if the motor has enough grunt to move the gears.

I'd meant to source a new motor as mine is very temperamental (even when connected to 12v direct on the bench before the door wire loom suggestions start ) I'd be interested find a reasonable priced effective replacement, even got as far as noting all the dimensions (now lost ).
Sounds like this one could be a goer, wasn't expecting it to be that much, is it worth trying model shop type suppliers, if there is such a thing outside of what's been suggested already?

thats what I think and the mounting holes can be ajusted on the plastic mounting bracket. It should have loads of power. There are a couple of mirrors going on ebay so I may get one of them and still get a motor to see if it can be done. Would be a good thing to know for the future. Once you know how the removal and stripping down is not so hard...Thanks for all the replys with photo links...just the ticket...Bloody good forum this. Lets keep it that way !!

Kirsty...don't think a model shop cheap motor would be up to the job. You get what you paid for ..the factory motor is a good heavy one so £20 is o.k. Mind you when you add VAT an p&p it comes to £31.
I think I will give it a go and put the price of the next 20 ****** up by £1.50. (tongue in cheek).

Yes it does matter, but I gave the wrong link it was all part of the same data sheet which does include 12v versions as well, also 18v ones that could quite happily be underrun with no problems. The data sheet has more details on the entire range. Also Maxon have there own online shop it would seem https://shop.maxonmotor.com/ishop/app the A-max 22 110122 is the 12volt version at 29.93 Euro.

All fixed and working ..£40 for a mirror off e bay. It would have cost £30 to try and fit a motor that may not have been suitable.
