Had a cracking day today in fact a brilliant weekend especially after Saints beating Leeds on friday to get to the Grand Final again, sorry but camping will loose out to Rugby League every time!! (Hence no Winsford for me!)

That said today was the icing on my weekend had a great day with two good mates  and couldnt believe the interest we three generated just by being there,it got to one stage where we had quite a crowd gathered to admire and find out more about our Bongos :P As usual we promoted the Club and Forum to its best advantage spelling out what a freindly place it was to be part of and to visit!!!!

I exhausted my supply of spotters cards Im sure quite a few new members will appear very shortly from the NW region.

The caddy was exceptional and what nice people owned it,it was a credit to them!!

It was a really good day made all the better by the weather, its about time we had a nice weekend eh!!

Glad all the peeps that attended Winsford had a good time too!!

Dabs :P

Sorry was enjoying just being sat in the cadillac fleet-wood, (the seats more comfy than my sofa) i forgot to take a pic of the 25 year old beauty.only one owner from new and every single piece of paperwork that went with the car , stunning. and the two blokes driving the car seemed more interested in our bongoes.

one of my few regrets was not having flown on Concorde.
Mrs S's ex work colleague won a trip to New York on Concorde (back on a 747 though) it took 6 "You've won a holiday" - "Yeah right! you must think I was born yesterday!" telephone calls before AirMiles managed to convince her they weren't ringing from somewhere in Florida.................

I was talking to a pilot when i was loading concord and he told me how fast it was.
he explaind that if a 747 took of from manchester and then concord took of 3 hours later concord would still get ther 2 to 3 hours before the 747.
Amazing bird ..

concord is also very small inside two seats either side and just enough space to pull a small trolly down the middle.
But what got me was the size of the windows o my god they where about 8''x4'' very small.

The airport is just down the road from where I live, and always worth a visit, in the past I did do some charity work for "Child Flight"

the two blokes who owned the car told me they enter the Cadillac into shows ,and you could tell, it was in perfect condition.
the Concorde and the Cadillac two perfect machines plus three perfect Bongoes as well.

Great pics - everytime I see Concorde at Manchester it reminds me of the first time I went to the States in 1989 -i was lying on Miami Beach and a plane passed over (low) taking off from the airport and when I looked up it was Concorde - it carried on out over the water and then there was a boom as it went supersonic - Ahh memories.

Now the sixty four thousand question Steve. Did you try one of the seats for size, did you fit in one? could you still breath?

There is a Concorde inside a hangar at the Museum of Flight at East Fortune outside Edinburgh. We went on it with a party of friends last year and could not believe how small it was inside, especially the loo. My friend Jim who was a ships engineer tells me that he flew out on one years ago to join a ship at Dubia. His vedict was that they were ok if you stayed in your seat but awkward if you wanted to move around.

I'm sure i read that Concorde only started to make a profit in the last couple of years of its flying career.
built for speed not comfort.

Hi Carl, yes, i believe the windows are so small to maintain the integrity of the fuselage strength when cruising at high speeds, high up,with high pressures...concorde was basically a rocket with wings...

Yep, i bet it was one of the few times you felt truly proud to be british (or french  ).

Did the locals on the beach "hit the deck" when they heard the boom? Assuming it was just another drive-by?

I studied the pic for ages, i'm suprised you didn't have to wear sunglasses there neil, the lighting is tremendous! Judging from how the shadows lie, the light sources must be coming from all over the place!

A lot of work must have gone into that pic, brilliant mate!
