Mrs S's ex work colleague won a trip to New York on Concorde (back on a 747 though) it took 6 "You've won a holiday" - "Yeah right! you must think I was born yesterday!" telephone calls before AirMiles managed to convince her they weren't ringing from somewhere in Florida.................one of my few regrets was not having flown on Concorde.
Hi Carl, yes, i believe the windows are so small to maintain the integrity of the fuselage strength when cruising at high speeds, high up,with high pressures...concorde was basically a rocket with wings...cabte wrote:I was talking to a pilot when i was loading concord and he told me how fast it was.
But what got me was the size of the windows o my god they where about 8''x4'' very small.
Yep, i bet it was one of the few times you felt truly proud to be british (or frenchkawasaki kid wrote:Great pics - everytime I see Concorde at Manchester it reminds me of the first time I went to the States in 1989 -i was lying on Miami Beach and a plane passed over (low) taking off from the airport and when I looked up it was Concorde - it carried on out over the water and then there was a boom as it went supersonic - Ahh memories.
Dunno how i missed this pic...Brilliant stuff!NeilT wrote:
