as i am sure you remember-test A involves operating the reset button and the on/off button but not the set button so there is room for doubt about that connection but they all have continuity.
without information about what voltage to expect at each connector there is nothing else i can check.

Which connections in particular do you want voltages from? I can have a measure this evening, although I probably wont be able to measure them with the cc engaged.

Assuming the 4 wires to the switch are ok - it lights up so means the green & one other (possibly brown) is fine.

The speedo pulse is ok - you've got the flashing led on the controller

Have you checked the connection to the brake light switch, or the unused clutch switch? If either of those are earthed, it would disengage it.

Yes try disconnecting the brake wire just in case that is shorting out the system and preventing it engaging.

i was thinking of checking output voltage to the actuator from the black box and from the set/on off/resume to the box.
i would of thought test A would fail if there was a problem with the brake light or clutch switch-but cant hurt to make sure.
any figures much appreciated.

well you could have knocked me down with a feather-a guy from dometic finally called me back this afternoon.
had a discussion and he will send a replacement unit to me-fingers crossed it arrives (and works)in time for our up coming trip into france

Hi just to say fitted I fitted the MS50 over a month ago, and was 100% correct on instalation, i also had a dead un ! out of the box, bought off ebay from Germany, used Simons very detailed instructions and re checked every connection...still dead, contacted weco UK ... they said send it back, now one month later and i am still chasing it, usual crap excuses, got to ring back monday to see if they can find it .... LET ALONE FIX IT !! and the technical line is a premium rate number to boot!!!!!!! anyway i'll keep you posted on the progress ......thanks Big Rich

Lots of us have one that work perfectly 2 or 3 have had problems.

About the same ration as good to bad Bongos and it didn't put you off having one of those.

It may be that as they are getting very hard to find, old stock that has been hanging around for years is getting sold and maybe even faulty ones that are supposed to have been fixed - who knows.

I think that if you leave it much longer you won't be able to get one.at all.

I've just used mine nearly all the way from home to Oxford - not a hitch.

Got some voltage readings, measured from connector to earth, but don't think they're going to help, cos there were taken while stationary:

Actuator: red,white & black - 0v

Switch:

STATE>>> Off / On / Set pressed / Res pressed
Orange (switch common): 0v / 3.13v / 0v / 0v
Yellow (set/resume): 0v / 0v / 13.8v / 4.5v
Brown (on/off): 0v / 0v / 0v / 4.5v
Green (LED): 13.8v / 0.9v / 0.9v / 0.9v

Hope you get a response back from them soon

update-did not get chance to check the voltages before we set of on our trip in the bongo to france.
on day 2 driving south from reims i said to herself-it would be really nice to press the set button and let the cc do its job and to my surprise the thing engaged and has worked fine since.
electronics are wonderfull

Don't let these few reports put you off - ours has been such a benefit to us which made our problem very frustrating but it has worked fantatically since I soldered all of the scotchlock connections and crimped the 3 bullet connectors that had worked loose.

Bit like Bongo cooling/head probs, you read about the hiccups, not the thousands that work well. A great mod in my opinion.

Mine didn't work first off 'cos the Scotchlok hadn't made contact on the blue/white speedo cable, soldered - sorted.
