Sensor is between the bolthead and the washer/spacer of the rocker box cover. Passenger side. Second bolt in from the left hand side of the block (front of the car side) - second bolt in moving from the front of the car to the back as you look at the block from the passenger side leaning in from the passenger door!

I would move it across to the Drivers side away from the exaust.
Not that it really matters as what you are looking for is any abnormal rise in temp. Mine is under a rocker bolt on inlet side and reads around 85/88 under normal driving conditions. 92 is the higest attained towing a caravan.
