The big U shaped pipe connects the tubing from the intercooler to the turbo. If you loosen the 2 clamps you can pull this hose off. You will probably find a load of black sludge which is quite normal on the Bongo. The black smudge on the side of the turbo is probably due to oily air escaping from a loose clamp. Clean it all up & re-assemble, making sure the clamps are tight.
