That is intresting, as the Bongo cooling system can't cool the engine from the radiator when the engine is off.

Out today in this glorious weather, as I turned off ignition, heard the scavenger fan run and slow down to a stop, I had cleaned the terminals this morning as the handbrake was hot yesterday after a long uphill run.

Well now that IS interesting Pete, as it opens up the possibility I was hinting at the other day on another thread i.e. who's to say that the fan hasn't stopped working on some old Bongos because the sensor has gone AWOL. We know this kind of thing happens with other sensors. But if it happens with the scavenger fan, it may be of no consequent until a 'hot engine day' arrives and it was needed. It may be on an occasions like that when the mysterious reports of Bongos pulling in after a hard run then pushing coolant out of the header tank happens. This is all uninformed speculation of course, but it does make you think.

I did a small test today, running the scavenger fan using the over-ride switch. Unless I'm very much mistaken, the handbrake base, and the side of the engine compartment seemed noticeably cooler at the end of the run than they had been after a similar run earlier in the day. I'll post with an update as and when I get more conclusive evidence. 8)
