Ah, bandage, good call, I was trying to work out if there was some kind of paper sticky tape available. Though it occurs to me now that it's called "masking tape" and the misses wants me to use it on various parts of the house, prior to wielding paintbrush and roller. It isn't difficult, just about all you need is 10mmspanner V.1.0.1. and Pieceofflatsteelplate V.2.0.5.

Yup. Coolant in there up to the seam (i'll be attempting the "clean with some acid" trick when it's time to replace the coolant - i.e. before winter). According to my pipette with balls in it, it's good for -17 degrees at the moment!nfn wrote:Gav,

OK, so, had a little time today, spent some time looking at my hoses, repositioned the bleed hose where it meets the engine, and performed this little task there, as a little water came out when I moved it (probably just seepage from loosened clip - bust better safe that sorry as there was some corrosion around the pipe (now mostly cleaned up with wire wool).bigdaddycain wrote:Thats where i'd start...perhaps cut a bit of bandage and tiewrap it onto the pipe,which should highlight if indeed you are losing coolant there...
