I must agree with Pete.....too much organisation is not good at meets as people tend to want to chill out and do their own thing........I have been to meets where everyone gathers at a certain time and bbqs...but what if you are not hungry then...?....I have found that the best moments are the impromtu ones...eg...pole dancing comes to mind....come to the meets and enjoy what you want to do....but if someone wants to organise something by all means go ahead......typical example....anyone want to go on a cycle ride...?...join in by all means...but don't feel obliged to.

I think its a case of offering options rather than saying we will do so and so then getting little/no response.

I certainly enjoy the communal BBQs and so do many others but they are not compulsorty...just a chance to socialise at one central point for those who wish to do so.

I does help though if everyone knows what the options are by the time they arrive on site, as once set up people tend to disappear and spreading the word becomes difficult...so people miss out on what is being offered. So some sort of programme is handy so people know what options are open to them in terms of communal activities. This ultimately saves the meet organiser a lot of hassle trying to let everyone know what is happening.

Perhaps a 'whats on'/ 'where is everyone' board on display in the marquee then we don't need to get into printing off programmes? Anyone got a whiteboard they'd like to donate to the NW.

DBO laminated Roosters HappyBirthday letters at Ainsdale

If Daves got a laminater then 2 sheets of laminated A4 will make a good noticeboard, hung up with a whiteboard marker to write on

Couldnt agree more Harry, i too enjoy the get together evening bbq and the jacobs join in, its good to know what everyones doing before rather than someone going off site ect and coming back and thinking we didnt tell them because we didnt want them there ect, its just nice to all get together and have a good laugh, and maybe a quick tipple of the liquor of laughter

Could I suggest a childrens disco tent. thinking of the little ones for this one. Set up a bit of a rota of parents. I'd be more than happy to help out. It would also give mum and dad a bit of a break for an hour.. A bit of music and a rope light in a cheap gazebo. Some Balloons.

The White Board is a brilliant idea. Some people who are new of 1st timers to a meet may not feel confident about just hanging around.
