Hi my is'nt overheating but the temp gauge refuses to register any change at all can anyone tell me where it is connected on the engine plz? and the colour of the cable anls my fuel gauge only registers full or empty this has only just happend as all was well till yesterday the fuel gauge seems hard to move a physical resistance to being moved by hand it moves very slowly when filled up and tales age to go back to zero when powered down so I don't think it's the sender 'thingy'.My thnks in anticipation

1st temp guage....should read zero first thing in the morning and move slowly up to about the 11 O'clock position after a few mins running, once at 11 O'clock it will stay there and not move again unless there is a problem.
2nd fuel gauge....the gauge does not go down to empty when you switch off, it always reads how full/empty it is.....when you add fuel it does take ages to move up...If yours is not behaving like this I would suspect the earth wire on the sender unit....easy fix

Mik, the connection for the termperature sensor is on the top of the head, at the front on the drivers side, just above a large hose. There is another sensor towards the rear of the engine in the block with 2 pins - this goes to the ECU

Thanks guys for the reply I noticed also that the temp indicator/needle filcks down when power on (reverse volts?) but don't move up at all, the fuel tank is over half full and moves only passed the E for empty there is volts on the back of the dash assembly and there is an earth there checked with V-meter, can't get over this hard to move state with the fuel gauge it should be free to move out of stitu' but it's stiff I will check other connection for temp gauge looks like seats out again tommorrow if left to stand running blowers run as needed so it's just the gauge it ain't overheating engine wise
