Supposed to be temporary but I used some in an old Mini, as a get me home measure. The radiator never leaked again in the 4 years before scrapping the car. Thinking about it, it wasn't Radweld, it was Barr's Leaks - dunno if you can still get it.

But you know what i'm saying john? The radiator has been compromised, surely it would be in the back of your mind that there is STILL a hole there? Isn't it like putting a plaster on a gash?

Agreed Ste, I wouldn't risk it now, but I was a young skint lad at the time (I've got sepia photos to prove it - thought I'd get that in before you did

I know exactly what you mean john, i remember the bodge of a lifetime about ten years back. I had a N/A diesel escort for work that sprung a leak on one of the big coolant pipes,as a "get me home measure" i used a bit of parcel tape on the wet pipe, that i'd peeled off a box in the boot, not only did it stop the leak, it held for the following two years i owned the vehicle for!
