That sounds interesting Timnz - could provide a good workaround for Bongos everywhere + a performance enhancer. Good luck, keep us posted.
Great being able to talk across the world to one of the great places on God's earth. Its midnight here - I'm off to bed

It's not a cheap option BUT
because you can tailor the bump and rebound damping, its possible to have the van handle better, by having less roll, less swaying.
It can also handle being lowered, without an increase in spring rate, by adjusting the bump rate, so retaining the original ride quality, without bottoming out. I can't tell the difference in ride quality at all.
The suspension place tested my original shocks and found they had a lot of bounce damping, and virtually no rebound damping.
Wacking in shorter stiffer springs alone will make the Bongo handle and ride horribly !

Whats the likely cost of this solution timnz if - as you hint - it isnt a cheap option.
Mike
PS - I'm currently off work with a bad back and only visiting the PC for short periods (my back doesnt allow me to sit for long). So apologies if the dialogue is a interrupted this end!

the replacement front strut inserts are $375 NZ each... plus labour to install..
Unfortunately the Bongo is a unique vehicle and the top heavy nature of it means you need some serious damping to keep it under control...

I see what you mean - not cheap! But good I imagine
