I to will lie low. I do indeed hope to make a few bob out of the alarms. This will hopefully repay the amount I spent developing it. I have supplied the club with a few kits at cost price and will continue to do so as long as the bongomaster wants. I also supplied the first 20 kits direct to members at a greatly reduced price inc P&P. If you can get a kit from Oz at about £68 you will also pay about £20 customs and Royal Mail charges.
That is my last word. Anyone wants to know anymore please feel free to PM me. If I can help I will. I an to old to be shouted at.

The price given by Hadn Callow of £68.00 + £20.00 charges is infact incorrect The true price is

£59.42 ( $135.00 AUD this includes Airmail postage)
Import duty is Nil
Vat is £7.48
Royal mail Clearance is £8.00
Grand total is £74.90

I have fitted the coolant loss detction system very impressed now feel fully safe and engine protected.thanks to Hayden and all for all their efforts in developing this gadget.

Why not fit both systems? then you can have the best of both worlds, and all relax


Sorry, but for me (untill funds recover enough) I will be doing my usual weekly checks, and that all "keeps well" with my coolent system.

well i for one do have both systems instaled

haydns kit is easy enough to fit and if it warns me i have low coolant at the very least it`s done it`s job as mine as a rule does`nt leak then you can look round and track the leak down hopefully saving greater expense later on.

the system from australia the tm2 i have used over 3 months now again dead easy to fit and i have the sensor bolted right onto the cylinder head using one of the pre drilled/tapped holes on the head
it checks the temp every 2 seconds and constantly displays it
as i have said before it`s a bit unnerving till you get used to it when the temp creeps up but the bongos temp guage stays where it is and don`t budge,
on mine there is no normal running temp it can range from 85c-105c but has been as high as 110c on a certain part of the m62 same place same temp everytime so i don`t worry about it

say pulling up at a set of lights can make the temp rise a few degrees as the engine slows so does the cooling but after a few seconds or so it`ll cool down.
going up big hills again the temp rises get back on level ground again the temp may rise a few degrees as you`ve backed off the accelarator
again it soon sorts itself out
altitude affects the temp,

bit scary to start with thinking hang on is this normal but on certain roads you get used to it so would now be worried if say on this road the temp is different to what it was last time

all this you won`t see from the standard temp guage as it don`t budge



only thing is now though i have more beeps than the starship enterprise at start up but as long as they do that i know they are doing the job

may be a bit overkill for some folks ie " i check the levels every time before i go out"
maybe i should but i don`t each to their own i say
so i paid for something else to tell me

now if only i had a sensor telling me not to have that last pint

I think Haydn is talking about his system, and you are talking about yours - hence the price difference.

As the member who tried out the preproduction version of Haydns Coolant detector may I add a few things.

Haydn ordered a kit from the Ozzie chap. After lengthy trials it became obvious that the original EngineSaver wouldnt work in a reliable way. After some considerable expense, many emails, trials, failures etc and using the knowledge of the designer a satisfactory working design was established.
After an independent fit and write up by me it was ready.

Much effort went into finding a minimum cost kit (duty) and avoiding VAT (legally) where possible.

As the Ozzie designer said after much headache to find a working system that he was bitten by the Bongobug to find a solution despite the fact that he had spent far too much time on it for his business.

Haydn makes up these kits in the UK with the designers parts. This has kept the cost low despite VAT being added by the Club. Haydn has agreed to not undercut the Club price.

We have had long conversations about pricing and believe me he ain't going to get rich on this.

Don't knock the bloke. There was a need, he solved it and offered it via the Club first.

Hi Bonz I swore to the wife I would not respond to anymore listings, so I am going to make it my last, all I have to say on the matter is Ok, I will agree the “world is flat” and not round ! so lets say now for peace, coolant loss is right and the temp monitoring way is wrong call the linching Posey off ……..I’ll turn myself in tomorrow, your right on the sun remember …. Not saying Coolant detection is the dogs danglies or even the only solution. Just saying don't shoot the messenger.
