You know peeps since I retired 5 years ago I have not worn a watch or tie since, having worn both every day for over 30 years time is now mine and means nothing to me. However one thing I do not miss is a clock in the car or at least I didn't until everyone started on here about fitting one in the cubby. My cubby is just that,.. a mini glove box for sunglasses and keys but I have started lately looking for the damn time in the car, don't know why because I don't care about time and do things my way now but...I am starting to feel my bongo is naked without one..where will I put it though and which to choose...Oh bugger see you have started me off now, look out scrappie I feel a clock hunting session coming on.Happy motoring and who are these guys in white coats.......

Hi

Thanks to Haydn I am now the proud owner of a loverllllly clock complete with metal dial and all the wires (which my last one didnt had)
Not that the wires makes amy difference because I havent a clue where they go...

I have read the superb instruction link...but the wires are still different to mine...

I bought the blue connectors...what oh what am I doing wrong...

My wires are Black, Red and Green

Hubby and I are falling out big style!!!!!

The colours of the wires attached to your clock mean nothing to anyone except me and you. The label attached to the clock explains all.
Connect the green wire to any earth wire or point in the car....Connect the red wire to any permanantly live connection (your radio should have one, if not go to the fuse box or ignition switch......black wire to a sidelight or dashlight feed.
To work this out you may need to use a voltmeter.
You could run the red wire to your battery positive terminal but make sure you put a inline fuse in.
Hope this helps.
The red wire feeds the clock
black wire feeds the light
green wire to earth
(NOTE I did a few clocks with different feed colours. But if you got one of these the wireing label on the clock supplied is correct.)
You can test which is which by connecting across your battery

Let me know how you get on.

For any of you out there who have fitted white dial kits, I can supply clocks with white dials and any colour backlight you want. I have about 50 of these clocks, clock on right of cubby or left. I have done a few "specials" for forum members. I also have had made 300 CNC cut metal dial surrounds. I can do a exchange service if required. Special discounts to forum members. Buy a coolant alarm and get a clock at half price.
This is not ment to be a advert, just a service to members.

For clock dial rings see ebay item 170158821024. PM me if you want one a bit cheaper. Note they are already cheap compared to others on ebay and they are made out of aircraft quality polished alloy

Haydn very kindly sorted me this really smart white dialled bmw clock to compliment my white dials... and the alloy surround too (which is a perfect fit  )

Here it is in varying degrees of light....

The alloy surround hadn't been fitted when the first pic was taken.

Thanks for the clock Haydn...it's spot on

finally got mine in (well the fairies fitted it while i was in work today.......ok my dad did it for me)

problem is it looks great from the front.....

Image

.........but the fit is slightly out so when you look at it from above the clock seems too far back or the cd player is too far forward (not sure which)

is there a trick to getting it to sit nice? dont want to force it as my dad broke his doing just that :(
