Good question and the answer is "who knows"  She has apparently had pneumonia, but I suspect that that was a side effect of whatever she had wrong with her. Last best guess was "a virus of some sort" (excuse the technical language   )

Seeing this news has made my day =D>

All the best to Anna for a speedy recovery (after 7 weeks in bed  ) but she will need to take it steady so no organising meets in February [-X , and best wishes to Jimmy who must have had a horrendous few weeks too.

Take care both of you, :)
Sarah

Some really good news among all this icy chill. Thanks for keeping us posted,John.

Anna, take it easy - get the forum fingers going, then the shutter button finger, and worry about walking when all the snow and ice has gone. Not many of us oldies are doing much walking at the moment due to the icy conditions, so we'll probably all end up having to do muscle rehab with you

You're in a particularly bad spot too, judging by the minus 18C reported last night in Oxfordshire, so get home as soon as they'll let you, keep warm, and be patient about recovery - it will take time but it's going to happen, that's the good bit :D I've been there, although as a youngster. After a road accident, I was in a full length leg plaster and on crutches for 4 months, in the bad winter of 1962/63.

At the end of that, the NHS sent me off to a residential rehab unit near Watford for a month, to get me walking - but I don't think they offer that any more, do they?

We're all rooting for you =D> =D> =D> =D>

First the bad news - THERE ISN'T ANY :D :D
The good news - Anna is now breathing on her own and no longer needs oxygen. She is talking and even eating a little. The old bugger even tried to walk today (with the aid of a frame) but soon found out that 7 weeks in bed leaves the muscles very weak - Jimmy's days of peace and quiet are clearly coming to an end
Brilliant news a good start to the new year =D> =D> =D> , come on Anna we need you to get the meets organised.
Take care of yourself now Jimmy, you will need your strength to fend off Anna . :D
