My changed work rota means that I'm now free the weekend of Tan Hill, so if there is still space I'd like to stretch my legs and head up from the Midlands arriving on Saturday afternoon if thats OK.

May be a bit late at this stage (although maybe next time . . . ) but - How about fancy dress as another BF name or avatar? e.g. chop a leg off below the knee & come as pegleg pete, some cotton wool in the cheeks, a sharp Italian suit, a (touch) of body padding & morph into The (DBO) Godfather?

Must be some potential here . . . .

In one of your earlier posts you were on about a disused mine where it would be possible to park/camp - is that the one marked on the map here (and on the satellite pic)

Also, which way were peeps planning on going - we were planning to stay clear of proper roads and go through Settle, Horton-in-Ribblesdale, Hawes (to get a nice piece of Wensleydale, Grommit), over the Butter Tubs pass to Thwaite, then to Keld and up to the pub on what looks like a real dipply-dopply road. Can anyone comment on whether this is a wise plan or not
