Ok then only 3 more sleeps to go now till this one.
I have (hopefully) PM'd everyone today with the pitch numbers and code for the barrier, should it be down. Please make sure you bring these numbers with you.
This is a caravan site so strictly NO TENTS are allowed. It has to be an awning. It’s to do with the site's licence. The pitches are completely hard-standing gravel over hard-core, so you will need hard ground pegs for your awnings.
The mobile phone coverage is a bit patchy. I have Orange which manages a text up there but no calls (unless you hang off the end of the jetty). O2 is similar. I don’t know about the other networks sorry. There is a payphone available.
There is a £10 refundable deposit for a key for the toilets/shower block. There is no extra charge for the showers. The ladies has a hairdryer provided. The site has a well stocked licensed shop.
We can access the site from 12PM on the friday. There is a barrier system in operation. The barrier is generally up all day on the south entrance. It goes down around 9PM. There is a north entrance/exit where the barrier is aways down.
On the Friday night we shall have a Jacobs Join in the marquee next to the lake , from around 7.30PM. For those of you new to this, all it means is we will have a buffet and you need to bring a contribution - sweet or savoury (hot or cold) This is of course optional but the rules are if you want to eat something you have to have brought something. It’s the law. Bring a chair and a drink too.
On Saturday late afternoon/early evening we will aim to have a BBQ by the lake. Again this is optional. Just do what ever you are comfortable with.
The rest of the time I'm guessing the kids (big and little) will be messing about in the lake. A few peeps are bringing kayaks/dinghys. I had a quick look at the weather forcast and it said showers for saturday. Does this mean it's actually going to be sunny???
Cheers
