broken side window catch

Post by budebeach » Sun Apr 22, 2007 7:05 pm

Hi - Nice hot day - our son decided to open the window on the sliding door and the plastic catch has broken. Now the window can flap open and has actually dropped a bit. Any suggestions as to how it can be repaired! Looking at some of the threads on the forum people have talked about having them sealed . Is this a cheaper option and how is it done?
Thanks for any help.

hi budebeach have you thought of looking in a breakers as these catches look remarkably like the ones on the old mini ? you might be able to get them off a hatchback also or try bellhill garage as they break a few bongos :)

hope this helps

Just in case anyone revisits this thread - we have managed to botch the side window catch together with a cable tie and a small screw to stop it slipping. Can get a new catch from bongobits, but at £32 think we'll see how we go for the time being.
