Front Passenger Swivel Seat

Post by Larus » Fri Feb 06, 2026 9:18 pm

Greetings,
I am considering installing a device that will enable me to change the direction of the front passenger seat on my V6 Bongo to rear facing. I have noticed that there are some devices advertised on E-bay etc, at a fairly reasonable price, that appear to "fit the bill".
I am wondering if anybody has ventured down this route with any success, or have any alternative solutions.
Thanks in anticipation..... :D

Welcome aboard!

Before you commit you need to understand that a simple swivel seat doesn't work!!!! You also need to arrange for the seat to flip out away from the engine cover to allow turning the only seat designed for this is here https://www.newdawnconversions.co.uk/seating many of us have them!!

Yep.

New Dawn are normally at Stourport, end of June, and will fit them on site, pretty sure it's best to book with them first.
Take a torch, toilet roll, and tea bags.

Hi Larus,

Highly recommend the New Dawn seat.

If you can't get it fitted, they operate a mail-order service, send in your seat base and they mod it and return it to you.

It's very simple to remove the seat and refit after the mod.

I added this mod to my van and it's probably the best change I've made.

Regards,

Rich.
