Hello! Newbie to the Bongo world

Post by Pjuk79 » Sun Dec 07, 2025 9:48 pm

I've just picked up my first Bongo - 1997 2.5 Diesel Manual 4wd about 4 weeks ago and so far I'm loving it. Looking forward to adventures in 2026 with the kids, might try and get along to a Bongo Meet if I can too!

Morning all, I'm sorry I didn't reply I didn't get any notifications and just assumed no one saw my post!
I'm in Basingstoke, and we've taken the Bongo down to the coast a couple of times for a run (not stayed anywhere yet) so far so good! I'll definitely keep an eye out for the events and the Stourport one sounds great only a couple of hours away too.
I'm not sure what I'll be able to contribute to a forum I'm not massively mechanically minded.. although I have already learnt the top tip of where to whack the sliding door to release it when jammed, fathomed out why I get cool air on the drivers air vents, and what all the buttons do so I'm definitely on the right tracks !
