Middle row problem

Post by Greenmachine96 » Mon Aug 18, 2025 9:44 pm

My middle row will not slide back and forward when it's operated from behind by some one getting out from the rear. I have an unconverted set up and the child in the rear is now effectively stuck.

I can see the issue that the offside mechanism (which allows the seat to slide, is not triggered by the movement of the "seat lever", only by the hand lever in the middyof the seat. Very frustrating as they seem to be basically connected as the same thing. But is there anyway to fix these units? I don't really want to buy a whole new middle row. I do have a donor row from another bongo but the fabric and seats aren't the same.

But upon closer inspection the part I'm struggling with is the mechanism that 88-721A connects to at the far side, which doesn't appear here as separate. Effectively buried in the leg of the seat.

I'll go have a play when time (wife) permits

Fixed. Replaced the bar across the middle, the spring and the offending end plate. Not entirely sure what the problem was. Possibly some tension/torque in the spring not transferring to the other side. Means he seat can now slide when you use the levers from behind.
