Brake warning light

Post by trikeboiler » Wed Nov 27, 2024 4:41 pm

Hi all, bit of advice needed please, I have the brake red warning light coming on but only after continual braking going down hill, the brakes are fine plus there is no noise from the discs, the light is the one that comes on when the handbrake is applied. Any ideas please. Thanks

Check the brake fluid level, when the vehicle is tilted then the level goes below the sensing level and brings the light on. Sounds like it just needs a top up but perhaps also check you haven't got a small leak as well.

Good info from Geoff, also, when was the fluid last changed?

Possibly has some water in it which can boil under heavy braking and turn to steam. This would usually lead to a soft pedal and reduce the fluid level.

Hi thanks for the info, yes you were correct, it was just a bit low on brake fluid, all sorted now and no leaks. Thanks again.
