Most of this discussion was from 12 years ago you realise ? Hotspots on phones weren't as common then!
There are however some advantages to having a real WiFi router in the vehicle, especially if stolen as then it can be tracked remotely from the phone that is with you but not in the van!

In my defence, most of my wardrobe is from 12 years ago too.. (or older 😁).
