Bad News

Post by Ian » Sun Jan 01, 2023 10:24 pm

It is with profound sadness that I have to announce that my wife Marianne passed away in hospital just before Christmas following a respiratory illness. Obviously myself, her family and close friends are overcome with grief.

I will keep Bongo Fury running but in the short term will be on restricted hours, Monday and Thursday mornings only. We have nearly 2,000 members, many of whome knew Marianne personally, so I would appreciate it if you do not contact me unless absolutely necessary.

No flowers or cards please, M did not like a fuss. Instead messages of condolence via M's favourite charirty at https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding ... ne-maynard

There will be an opportunity to celebrate Marianne's life at forthcoming club events

Yours in sorrow.

Blimey Ian, that's a shocker, we've known Marianne of course for 15 years or so. Sincere condolences from all of Team Muz.

Oh Ian

I'm so, so, sorry to hear this.

I really wish I could find some words which would help just a little, can only send our love and say we're thinking of you.

Deepest sympathy from us both.

Ian, I have never met either you or Marianne but after many years of BF membership it just feels like I know you. My thoughts and condolences are with you at this very sad time.

Hi Ian, I am very very sorry to hear this. No words will help. I wish you and your family the best that can be and you can only take
it an hour at a time. We have never met in person but I know you seem like a great guy. So sorry to hear this.

An update on fund raising for the International Committee for Red Cross. We have now raised £2,132 by a combination of the Just Giving page and donations made at the funeral.
