Bongo Friendee - Headlight not working

Post by bongoju » Sat Feb 27, 2021 10:44 pm

Hi, a little help please ;?;
Mazda Bongo Friendee 2.5V Petrol 2002

Far side HID headlight stopped working, - 12v supply to HID ballast not present- cable dead.

Supply to Nearside headlight HID ballast okay and the relay on the inside of the passenger side wing under the bonnet operating okay.

Question: Is there a separate relay for the far side headlight and where it is positioned?

Thanks for you help!

Not a seperate relay but there are seperate fuses for each headlight, located in the fuse box in the drivers footwell.

That's true for earlier models. But on later (02) petrol Bongos there is a fuse under the bonnet, rear bank of 4, second from the left. 30 amp, but 40 amp if you have Xenons.

Hi Ian and Doone

Apologies for the delay in replaying. The Bongo is not kept at home and due to the lockdown I was only able to travel to the place yesterday.
I am aware of the 40amp main fuse but that cannot be cos one of there is power to onne of the headlights/

Doone was spot on. I located the fuse box in the drivers footwell and noticed the 20amp fuse for the right headlight is missing!!!! How could that have happened I simply don't know.

Anyway, fitted a new fuse and the headlight is back on.

Many thanks for your help.

My next adventurer is going to replace the engine oil and filter! All the best.
