Van-x tailgate curtain installation

Post by BernieBongo1955 » Thu Feb 06, 2020 4:15 pm

Good afternoon Bongonauts,
Just wanted a bit of advice, a bit concerned about the positioning of the top rail into the door frame. This is a double skinned part of the door frame and seems very close to spot welds! Also are pop rivets a better fixing solution rather than screws. Thanks in anticipation (apologies if this has been answered elsewhere) .

Best bet might be to look at a Bongo with factory fitted rail.

If you're passing down the M5, J19/20 I'll happily meet up, or someone near you may offer a quick viewing.

My van-x rail was fitted when I bought the Bongie, it’s on the plastic trim on the van roof not the actual door.

Hi folks,
Many thanks for your prompt response. If Bob could send a photo of top rail position I would be most grateful, please don't worry if not possible. I have rear conversion so fitting to plastic trim not an option. Thanks again. Paul

I think my main concern is working out which bit is double skinned and the proximity to the glass; and therefore how to safely accommodate the top rail.

Happy to do that, of course.

I've never managed to put a pic on here (I know, I'm told it's easy  ) but if you PM me your e mail I'll do it in daylight tomorrow. :)
