Outing yesterday from Huntingdon to Wales and back via village in Wiltshire and wanted back up of my trusty garmin satnav of 5 plus years age. After setting off it just won't locate any satellite signal. It has never done this before. Everything else seems to work, background map, tools etc. My non bongo specific question is: Is the Satnav programmed to give up the ghost after a certain amount of time?
End of story is we got lost in the dark missing a turnoff I have done in daylight many times. Whilst not totally dependent on Satnav it would have proved very useful on a wet and very windy night. Good old bongo 2ltr petrol was as good as gold.

Re: Satnavs
There has recently been a roll-over of the week number on the GPS satellites which mean that old versions of GPS firmware are out of date, maybe this has caught up with you ? https://support.garmin.com/en-GB/?faq=z ... Y9kDnDBgZ6 the site is under going Mtce. as I type this, but a Google search will pick up lots of details https://www.google.co.uk/search?num=100 ... +roll+over
It maybe as simple as applying an update to the Garmin device, or buying a new one!
