Hi I'm new, and I lost my keys

Post by mascott514 » Mon Nov 26, 2018 4:07 pm

Hi there,

Firstly, hello. I am a new member, having had my Bongo about 6 months.
In anticipation of many issues, and a small brain when it comes to mechanics , I have joined up as a member. Please forgive any stupid questions, I will try and navigate the site where I can....

Anyway, today,

My son (honestly) has lost the car keys.

We had a central locking 'blipper'

I have got a spare key (with a number on ) but no spare blipper
The spare key closes only the passenger door and the side door and (thankfully) ignition .
The key doesn't operate the drivers door.

I would really like to have a central locking option (two fobs), and need to at least be able to operate my door.

Could anyone offer the best solution to this?

Thanks for helping

PS. The blipper fob thing looks like one on another post in a Japanese manual -that may mean its a genuine part - except, its lost!

Thanks for your reply- that system looks good, but Im happy with just door locks currently

Ok- update,
I have retrieved the car keys from the sweet shop where son left them! Huge relief!

Is it possible to get spare blippers that work without reprogramming the car ?

Re getting a spare blipper
Not a definitive answer but we had a Mazda 626 of the same era (S reg) for which we got a spare blipper. We had to go to a Mazda dealer who got a code from Mazda themselves. The code only lasted 24 hours and the new fob had to be programmed within this period. Can't remember it being to expensive.
