Report Back From Club AGM

Post by Ian » Tue Jun 26, 2018 10:22 am

Thanks to all those that attended the AGM on Sunday. Here's the main points (in no particular order).

1. There were 269 camping pitches taken up at this year's Bash (1 short of capacity) and about 25 day visitors.
2. The introduction of a voluntary donation for day visitors was successful, and we raised a total of £130.70 for our adopted Bongo the Elephant including donations from other sources.
3. With a few exceptions the new definition of a "camping unit" was adhered to (maz 2 adults, 3 children and 1 vehicle per pitch).
4. Ian presented a financial summary. For the second year running the club is running a deficit (currently just over £3k). After a discussion it was decided that there would need to be a combination of savings on printing costs (cards, newsletters) and an increase in the standard membership to £15 per year.
5. The Bongonaut(s) of the Year Award went to "Bert'n'Ernie", the 2 boys from Barnsley who attend most of the club meets. They have been added to the roll of honour, see viewtopic.php?f=4&t=57455&p=701894#p701894
6. Attention was drawn to the adventures of Bongo Bear who is busy travelling around the UK and further afield. See his Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/bearinabongo/
7. The venues for next year's meetings will be circulated in the September newsletter.
8. Finally, thanks to all the volunteers who helped us out. Without them, there would be no Bash!

I was approached by a number of people regards to disabled facilities. I think this should be included in the info sheet next time.
Copied from website.
Washrooms - The touring field washrooms are accessed via a 1 in 12 gradient ramp through an extra wide door. There is a washroom suitable for disabled use which has a wheelchair accessible shower, with seat and handrails, the floor has plenty of turning space, There is a low level hand basin with lever taps, the WC has handrails and a pull cord alarm. There is a low level work surface with hair dryer. The Riverside Field washrooms are accessed by 3 steps. Both washrooms are heated during cold weather.
Always be ready for a Top Up!

Just to agree with those that have posted thanks to Ian (and Marianne)

None of this would happen without their hard work.

Thanks for another great Bash and all the other meets that you arrange.

It always amazes me the wonderful people that belong to Bongo Fury, long may it remain that way.
